DunnCox is pleased to announce the appointment of Janice Causwell as the new Senior Partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2023.
Janice has been a Partner and an invaluable member of the Conveyancing Department, since 1980. She is the first female to hold the esteemed Senior Partner position in the firm’s history and her appointment represents another significant milestone for diversity in the leadership ranks of prominent law firms in Jamaica.
Janice has built a sterling reputation centered around her expertise in handling complex conveyancing and commercial matters.
She has handled a number of significant transactions in the tourism and hotel sectors and has advised on cross-border transactions involving the purchase, sale, construction, financing, development, management and operation of commercial real estate and building developments.
Janice’s experience spans the service of local and international entities in both the private and public sectors. Her practice includes the representation of government owned entities in a number of matters involving the divestment of state-owned assets and the privatisation of public industries. Janice has also represented numerous high net worth individuals in the acquisition and disposal of real estate and in the management of their estates. Her practice therefore covers a wide range of conveyancing, commercial, real estate and probate issues that remain essential corner-stones of the firm’s global practice.
Janice is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
