Margaret Moodie-Jervis has considerable experience in conveyancing, real estate, mortgage financing, security documentation for banks and building societies, hotel development, trusts and estate planning. Her primary areas of practice are mortgage financing, including residential mortgage financing through building societies and commercial banks; real estate issues particularly complex real estate transactions acting for vendors or purchasers; housing developments including subdivisions, strata titling, splinter titling, drafting and negotiating agreements pertaining to land acquisition and unit construction; resort development including property acquisition, regulatory approvals, construction contracts and resort financing; estate planning particularly for complex high net worth estates; real estate lease transactions; commercial building developments, including sales and acquisitions of holdings and interests; and debt collection for major financial institutions.
Margaret is a member of the firm’s Conveyancing Department. She currently serves on several Boards of Directors and governing bodies, including the National Gallery of Jamaica and the Ward Theatre Foundation. She is also a member of the Continuing Legal Education Sub-Committee of the Jamaican Bar Association.
