Jonathan was called to the Jamaican Bar and Trinidad and Tobago Bar in 2014 and is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department. His years in practice have been spent in leading and supporting roles in complex civil and commercial litigation matters.
Jonathan’s commercial litigation experience includes acting on behalf of financial institutions, insurance companies, construction and mining companies, and other major players in corporate Jamaica. His practice covers a broad array of litigation matters, including property claims, debt collection, labour disputes and contractual disputes. Jonathan has also played a pivotal role in advising corporate entities on labour issues and areas of regulatory compliance.
In his formative years, Jonathan demonstrated early signs of prowess for legal research and advocacy by participating in the 2007 Model United Nations Assembly (Trinidad), the 2009 Youth Forum of the 5th Summit of the Americas (Trinidad), the 2012 World Universities Debating Championship (Antalya, Turkey), and the 2013 and 2014 Phillip C. Jessup, International Moot Court Competitions (Washington D.C., U.S.A.).
Jonathan is a former President of the Youth of the United Nations Group-Trinidad and Tobago and has served as a volunteer of both Circle K International (Barbados) and the youth branch of Rotary International (Trinidad and Tobago).

Lead and Junior Counsel in matters relating to mortgage documents, instruments of guarantee, debentures, promissory notes and other securities in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of Jamaica.
Lead Counsel in matters relating to unlawful trespass and unrecognized equitable interests in property, in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of Jamaica.
Lead Counsel in precedent-setting labour disputes in the Industrial Disputes Tribunal and subsequent judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court, expanding the scope of Defences available to the employer, in claims of unfair dismissal.
Lead Counsel in matters requiring the acquisition of interim injunctions, heard by the Supreme Court and challenged before the Court of Appeal in Jamaica.
Advising International Law firms and local companies on the labour laws and practices in Jamaica, and the requirements for restructuring corporate policies to ensure compliance.
