Janice has developed an expertise and reputation for handling a number of significant transactions in the tourism and hotel sectors for both individual and corporate clients. Janice advises on all legal aspects of local and cross-border transactions involving the purchase, sale, construction, financing, regulatory approvals, development, management and operation of and investment in commercial, building developments, hotel and residential projects. She has represented the Government of Jamaica and government owned entities in a number of matters involving the divestment of government owned assets and the privatisation of government operated industries and high net worth individuals in the acquisition and disposal of real estate. Her practice covers a wide range of conveyancing, commercial and real estate issues and providing general advice on land related issues.
Janice also has extensive experience in the Probate and Administration of estates, and the settling of Trusts and Estate Planning. She is also a certified Mediator with specialist training in Court connected mediation. In this capacity, she has successfully mediated many complex and exceedingly litigious disputes saving the parties significant time and resources. Janice is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
A partner since 1980, Janice is a long-standing member of the Conveyancing Committee of the Jamaican Bar Association and also serves on the advisory board of Roots FM. She has repeatedly been included in rankings as a leading commercial real estate lawyer by Chambers Global.

- 2014-2017: Team Leader of the DunnCox team representing the Jamaican government in the privatisation of Jamaica’s only horse racing track at Caymanas Park. DunnCox performed legal and contractual due diligence to identify and advise on relevant legal issues, assisted with drafting of Confidential Information Memorandum and Request for Proposals, provided legal advice and support to the Enterprise Team and the Negotiating Team, participated in negotiations with the preferred bidder, and drafted the transaction documents.
- 2015-2016: Member of the DunnCox team which acted for the divestment of a Government owned petroleum stations and gas company to a private company.
- 2012-2016: represented an international hotel group in its acquisition of two hotel operations and other properties for the construction of additional hotels.
- Represents and provides advice to two major financial institutions in relation to their respective mortgage portfolios.
