DunnCox announces that effective January 2019, John Leiba succeeds Lincoln Eatmon as Senior Partner and Courtney Bailey is the Firm’s Managing Partner. Lincoln will remain with the firm as a Consultant.John has been a Partner with DunnCox since 1980. He represents clients in matters relating to conveyancing, real estate, mortgage financing, security documentation for banks and building societies.An innovative practitioner, John is determined to navigate clients through today’s complex business challenges.A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, John also serves on several Boards including Scout Association of Jamaica, St. Jago High School Foundation and Special Olympics Jamaica. He is a member of the Jamdammers Running Club, the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association and the St. Jago Past Students Association and is the current manager of the School’s Track and Field Team.John’s keen business sense is a valuable asset as Senior Partner as he looks forward to elevating the firm’s service and maintaining a people-first culture. He is a proven leader, accomplished member of the Management Team whose commitment to the firm and experience in leading DunnCox, will help to build upon the firm’s vibrant legacy and chart the next chapter.John is married with three children. Courtney Bailey succeeds John Leiba, who served as Managing Partner for seven years.Courtney has been a Partner with DunnCox since 2006. He has practised extensively in civil litigation with primary experience in commercial litigation and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Since 2010 his practice has expanded to include corporate and commercial law. In his commercial practice he has been involved in and advised on renewable energy project financing, loan and security documentation, mergers and acquisitions, public private partnerships and corporate finance.Courtney earned his law degree and Legal Education Certificate from the University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School respectively.A passionate and dedicated Partner with an impeccable reputation and excellent leadership skills, his appointment brings fresh thinking and builds upon our firm’s diversity. Courtney looks forward to leading key initiatives as the firm adapts and responds to a dynamic Jamaican market.
