Adding an article
To add a new article, follow the instructions below:
1. Open the ‘Add New Article’ page
Click on the ‘Articles’ link in the WordPress main menu, shown below:
This will open the ‘Articles’ listing page. From here, press the ‘Add New’ button:
2. Enter the details of the article
On the ‘Add New Article’ page, shown below, enter the title of the post in the field labeled ‘Enter title here’.
In the field labeled ‘Contributor’ enter a comma-separated list of all article’s authors / contributors.
Enter the text for the post in the large text area below the Contributor field.
3. Set the Featured Image
The Featured Image is the large image that is shown above the text of an article.
To set the featured image, in the section labeled ‘Featured Image’ on the right side of the page, click ‘Set featured image’.
A pop-up window titled ‘Insert Media’ should now appear:
Next, click the ‘Upload Files’ tab near the top of the window.
You should now see the file upload dialog shown below:
Click on the ‘Select Files’ button to choose the image file from your computer. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file anywhere on the pop-up window.
Click the blue ‘Set featured image’ button to the bottom right.
The file will now be uploaded to the website.
4. Save and publish the article
In the section labeled ‘Publish’ (usually on the top-right of the page), click the blue ‘Publish’ button to save and publish the article – pictured below. Alternatively, you may click the ‘Save Draft’ button to save the article without publishing it.
Editing an Article
To edit an article, open the Articles listing page (see part 1 above).
From there, with the mouse cursor hover over the article which you intend to edit, then click the ‘Edit’ link which appears.
Then, simply follow the same instructions given above for adding a new article.
